This Week in the Lab - March 9-13

1st Grade "My School" Project - Students will be showcasing many of the computer skills they have learned this year as they create their own Google Slides presentation, complete with pictures they drew in Tux Paint.

2nd Grade - Students will begin the first day of our Engineering Project.  Students will be challenged to create a working racetrack by moving through the engineering process.

This Week in the Lab - March 2-6

Kindergarten - Students will continue working on mouse skills and problem solving using their code.org accounts.

3rd Grade Area & Perimeter Project - Students will design and build a house in MinecraftEdu using math skills.

This Week in the Lab - February 24-28

Kindergarten - Students will continue to work on mouse and keyboard skills by creating a drawing in Tux Paint with their name.
1st Grade - Students will continue to prepare for their upcoming project by drawing a picture of their teacher in Tux Paint.
2nd Grade - Students will continue working in their engineering unit by building and flying a plane in "Simple Planes".
3rd Grade - Students will begin designing the house they will build in MinecraftEdu on paper using area and perimeter.

This Week in the Lab - February 18-21

Kindergarten - Students will design, build, and test a roller coaster using Disney Coaster.
1st Grade - Students will practice creating drawings in Tux Paint for their upcoming project.
2nd Grade - Students will continue their engineering unit by building and testing roller coasters.
3rd/4th Grade - Students will continue working in their code.org courses for computer programming.

This Week in the Lab - February 10-14

Kindergarten/1st/3rd Grade - Students will use problem solving to complete various coding challenges.

2nd Grade - Students will continue in our Engineering unit by designing and building a working roller coaster.

This Week in the Lab - February 3-7

5th Grade Green Screen Project - Students will use a script they wrote to create a green screen video project about their assigned explorer from Social Studies.

1st & 2nd Grade - Students will create a Valentine card in Microsoft Publisher to send to our troops around the world.

This Week in the Lab - January 27-31

Kindergarten - Students will build mazes and then drive Sphero through them.

2nd Grade - Students will continue using the Engineering Design Process to improve upon their track designs using Hot Wheels.

4th Grade - Students will use MinecraftEdu to explore equivalent fractions.

This Week in the Lab - January 20-24

3rd Grade Animals Research Project - Students will be assigned an animal to research online.  They will organize the information in Google Slides, add pictures, edit text and background colors, and present to the class.

Kindergarten - Students will practice mouse skills using various winter-themed web activities.

1st Grade - Students will use Google Slides to practice various math concepts.

2nd Grade - Students will be introduced to the Engineering Design Process and use Hot Wheels to design, build, and test a track that will enable the cars to complete one loop.

This Week in the Lab - January 13-17

3rd Grade Animals Research Project - Students will be assigned an animal to research online.  They will organize the information in Google Slides, add pictures, edit text and background colors, and present to the class.

2nd Grade Engineering - Students will be introduced to engineering and will use "World of Goo" to practice solving problems.

This Week in the Lab - January 6-10

1st Grade - Students will create a "Dream" poster in Microsoft Word in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
6th Grade - Students will finish building their civilization through the rise, peak, and decline phases.

This Week in the Lab - January 2-3, 2020

Kindergarten - Students will solve various challenges in "Crayon Physics".
6th Grade - Students will continue building their civilization in MinecraftEdu.
