This Week in the STEM Lab - October 17-21

Kindergarten - Students will begin to learn and practice using a mouse by using the drawing program, "Tux Paint".

1st Grade - Students will use problem solving and sequencing to solve various programming challenges in their code.org courses.

2nd Grade - Students will use Tux Paint to create a "pixel painting" of their choice by filling in one box at a time using different colors.

3rd Grade - Google Earth Project - Students will create a tour in Google Earth using locations they have visited and wish to visit.

4th Grade - Students will practice their programming skills as they work with our Sphero Bolt robots.

This Week in the STEM Lab - October 10-14

Kindergarten - Students will build their own creation to add to the Lego Wall.

1st Grade - Students will practice programming using our Sphero Indi robots.

2nd Grade - Students will paint the nametag they previously designed using Tinkercad.

3rd Grade - Students will practice programming with our Sphero Bolt robots.

4th Grade - Students will practice good digital citizenship using Google Interland.

5th Grade - Students will practice using latitude and longitude to find a location using Google Earth.

This Week in the STEM Lab - October 3-7

1st Grade - Students will begin their new code.org programming course for the school year.

2nd Grade - Students will learn how to use a 3D design program to create and print their name.

3rd Grade - Students will discuss digital citizenship and use "Google Interland" to practice.

4th Grade - Roller Coaster Project - Students will design and build a working roller coaster using the "Disney Coaster" program.

NJ Start Strong Testing

Students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade will complete an assessment in ELA, Math, and Science (6th only).

Kindergarten - Students will program a Sphero robot using an iPad to create a painting.

6th Grade - Social Studies Early Humans - Students will explore a simulation in which they attempt to survive as early humans using MinecraftEdu.

This Week in the STEM Lab - September 12-16

 All students will come to the STEM Lab for an intro lesson including logging in, rules and procedures, and code.org accounts.

This Week in the STEM Lab - May 31-June 3

Kindergarten through 5th Grade

Students will get to test out new software: Minecraft Education Edition.  Students will choose from an assortment of challenges and will provide feedback on what they like or dislike.

May 9-27 - NJSLA Testing

The STEM Lab will temporarily close to support NJSLA testing for 3rd through 6th grade students.
