5th Grade MinecraftEdu - Early Humans - Day 3

Please answer the following in one comment below:

1.  How did adding night/enemies affect your ability to survive?
2.  What did you use for shelter and how did it work?
3.  If we were to proceed into civilizations, how can we use Minecraft to simulate the other needs of a community?

  1. The enemies affected my ability to survive the night because they damaged me and they took a lot of health away if they hit you or touched me. I did not have shelter because I couldn't get dirt or wood because there was so many monsters that were trying to attack me so I struggled through the night. We could simulate that by getting other people to try and work together to make shelter and live life with other people that you don't know so you have to get along to survive and live is the main goal for the civilians.

    1. It effect us because Mr.Dunn put creepers in the houses and he challenged us by puting zombies that had enchated lether armor and iron sords. I used a small little house because i did not have time to make it biger because Mr.dunn had put it to night time and he put down creepers. We can use minecraft because minecraft helps people if you were alone in the woods with dothing that minecraft would help you in that case.

    2. Adding enemies at night wasn't hard all you had to do was fight them off if they did get near you.I used wood and i had a door and it had worked great. If we started the civilitations you could use villages so when we find it we wouldn't need to keep looking for food once you find the village and you would be able to make trades with the villagers.

  2. it did not affect me because i had tools and i had armor. i did not use a shelter i just stayed up all night.i would try to help people.

  3. adding night and enemies was not that hard for me because I just stayed in my house the whole time but at one point I had to live underground. I stayed in a cave for shelter but then as I said I had to go underground but since I had to think fast I didn't have anything with me under ground excepts a torch, so my shelter life didn't go very well. We could use mine craft to simulate other needs of a community by first off have a good shelter and enough food and by knowing the skills it takes, like we were just playing a game on a computer screen , imagine if this was the real world.

  4. the night did not affect me i just killed the enemies. i did not have a shelter because i just stay up all night.I did not help others because they tried to take my food

  5. Adding night and enemies to the game affected my survival because as night came more zombies came out and try to attack you. You had to have shelter and food in order to survive. I used grass blocks for shelter on the side of the mountain and it worked out pretty well because my house was camouflaged with the mountain. If we proceed into civilizations we can use minecraft to simulate that by allowing other players to go after you,and we could build a big shelter with everyone so we all can survive together.

  6. Adding enemies did affect my ability to survive the night because they took away my health if they hit or touched you.I didn't have shelter because, I couldn't get the supplies to build shelter because, there were so many monsters that were trying to attack me.We can use Minecraft to simulate the other needs of a community getting people to work together to build shelter and live with other people that you don't know so you can survive and live and complete the main goal which is for the civilians.

  7. Adding the night crawlers didn't affect me because when it was night time I was in doors. I crashed in on Isabel's place, she let me stay there and she gave me food. We could add cars to simulate the other needs of a community.

  8. Adding night and enemies made it a lot harder than than it was before we use a hut and it worked pretty well until you blew us up.we could make it seem like how it was during whatever lesson like if it was the sivle war than there would be teams and things like that and have the same problems they did back then.

  9. 1. Because monsters attack you if you go close to them and you loose health for that.
    2. I used dirt and wood for shelter that helped me survive.

    ReplyDelete
  10. the mobs made it harder because they took away health and there were not that many animals so our hunger went down a lot faster then when we had food and we can make a community by making everyone help each other than everyone doing stuff for them selves

    ReplyDelete
  11. The enameis affcted me to survive the night because when they hit me my health goes away.I used wood and it worked also It helped because the can not break the wood.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The hunger affected my ability to survive because I couldn't find food because everyone was taking it all so I couldn't food which led me to starving to death. I was going to make shelter with wood but I couldn't because my hunger was starting to go down quickly. We could simulate by getting a group of people to work together so it will be easier to survive because 1 person could get food, another person to get resources etc. Point is we could get a group of people who don't know each other and work together to survive.

  13. The monsters had aeadvatig becauses when I got out of my hid out to hunt ,skelatins sotind me.and killed my, '' Tanks mister Dunn''. For shelter I yous a biiiiig cave that have bats to hunt, but iI forgot my burner.

  14. The night enemies effected my ability to survive because when I hit one spider all the spiders would come after me. I built an underground house because when I cover the whole to get in the enemies can't get in but when a house in on the ground the spiders could climb over it and get in your house. If I was to continue in minecraft I would try to get more meat and food to survive longer, I'd also get more stuff to make better weapons so it's easier to survive.

  15. 1.Nighttime/enemies affect my ability to survive because if you didn't have a house they would try to kill you and even though you can kill them it's very hard to kill a mob of them with just a sword or bow and arrow. 2. For shelter my friend Evan and I were going to build a small house but it was to late and Mr.Dunn had already gotten to us and there were suddenly a bunch of creepers everywhere. They blew up our half house and killed Evan. Somehow I got away and was running from Mr.Dunn cause he targeted me and put about 40 of each monster, but I found a little sandstone cave and that worked for me. 3. We can use minecraft to simulate the other needs of a community by taking people in minecraft and telling them that in order to survive they needto work together to make shelter, get food, and get supplies. If they don't want to work together they will most likely die.

  16. 1.The enemies affected my ability to survive the night because when I was going to find food and wood I saw a chest so I went in it and a monster blow me up so I died so but befor I died I had so much food.
    2. We made a wooden house I got the food and Abby made the house so we let people into our home and they survived but I dint cause I was outside of the home. Later on when I was dead Abby,Hunter,Nadiah made a basement but I was dead so I could not see it. The home was small but it had enough space for all of us.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The enemies affected me by making it more challenging to survive with the creepers BLOWING ME UP and how the zombies followed you everywhere. I made an allience so someone would get food while someone got shelter. Our house was a 2 block building with a furnace and a crafting table. It worked when the zombies were at our door and they could not get us.If we proceeded minecraft could help us by teaching us what the civilizations looked like and how the people worked together to reach there goal

    ReplyDelete
  18. we had to build are own houses to survive i dug my house in the side of a mounten serouded by tall grass and i made my door out of dark wood so it looked like dirt we could group up and both build a house together and get build use full wepons like if someone has food and the other person is starving to death give them some food that is the main goal for the ability to survive

    ReplyDelete
  19. When you added enemies it was way harder to survive. When I had enough food, I built a house then I cooked my food. After that Ryan and Evan tried to come in and broke my door. Then about 5 creepers swarmed around my house and then one blew up. They also blew up my furnace, so I could not cook my FOOD!!!!. For shelter I used dirt to build a house. It worked amazing, but then Ryan tried to come in and then the creepers blew up my house, so I ran. If I use Minecraft to do something like this again, I could use it to build weapons to fight enemies with or hunt game with and to have something to scoop up the water with to have for drinking.

  20. By adding night it effect me by seeing the challenge. For example the monsters could have been villagers who were trying to attack me to steal my land or property.I didn't get to fully build the shelter, but the shelter is supposed to help me by me not getting attack from animals, villagers. Then the shelter is to help from me to be able to get some sleep. Minecarft can simulate for early humans to become a community be having the early humans has villagers. Then build shelter, farm land, clothes, also to get food. Finally if you are exchanging supplies to a different community you are able to get the supplies that you need, their able to get what they need.

  21. How did add night enemies affect my ability to survive was it was harder because they had arrows and they where shooting and blowing up things and if you where not in a house they would blow you up .What i use for shelter was i was in Abby's houses and there was a door a stove to cook the food and we made stairs and had beds made from black wool .Yes we can use mine craft to simulate the other need of community because people could all bring food and share a house.

  22. Question 1:It didn't really affect me too much because I had a house with Brie and Eliscia but then some zombies started spawning but I killed them with my diamond sword. We were fine for a while until multiple zombies, creepers and skeletons "magically appeared" I knew it was you Mr.Dunn anyway I came out from mining and saw Eliscia died and Brie was getting attacked I killed a couple of mobs but there was a lot more. Brie and I were running away but then a creeper blew her up and I had to jump down into some water and I survived.I never realized that many mobs could be in one place at a time and affect so much damage on to one person.
Question 2:I used acacia wood to build a house but I didn't have enough so I had to use a crafting table, some dirt and sand for the roof.It worked really well no problems until some people from Ms.Harlan's class tried to break in but I wouldn't let them because they already had houses and they were trying t take my food.
Question 3:I wouldn't really like to go into civilizations and have all our houses so close to each other I prefer to only stay by myself or just with 1-8 friends but if we had to it would probally be harder to survive. There is more people so less food, less wood and more of people trying to steel my stuff. We wouldn't really need to make a community it would just make minecraft life harder unless we all worked together which I don't like it seems like there is way to many people, but to simulate life we would need shelter lots of food and lots of supplies.

  23. Q1. It affected my ability to survive because he was putting in so many monsters in the world.Q2.What my shelter way I way under grown but it did not work well. Mr.Dunn saw me and in my hole he put monsters in my hole!Q3.

  24. Adding the night enemies effected my heal because when i hit the spider with the sword it would make all the spiders come after me so I'd loose my health quick. I built an underground house for shelter because in a regulars house the spider could climb up the walls but in and underground house spiders can't get into the house because they aren't able to swim. If I'd continue playing minecraft I would get more food so I could last longer and better swords to to kill enimies faster so I can get back in my house

  25. At night the monsters tried to kill me when a creeper blew our house down. We used wood to build our house, which worked out fine until a creeper blew up our house at night. In minecraft you can build stores for food, as well as build houses and hospitals like we use in 2017.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Adding enemies affected my ability to survive because a monster shot at me. I used a Pyramid to hide from the monsters, which worked by the monsters not coming in. We can simulate the later civilizations by building structures like store's, hospitals, and houses.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The affect of adding the night and enemies was that it became challenging to hide, craft stuff, and cook food because they were surrounding me so they could attack. What I had used for shelter was wood and other materials so I can defend myself from them attacking me.We can use minecraft to simulate the other needs of civilizations because we can like build stores so we won't go out and hunt for food instead we can buy food and we can eat our food at our homes.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It made it hard because when you are trying to cook your food monsters came out of nowhere and killed you when you are trying to eat.I just stayed there and put a furnace down and waited for my food to be done and I just walked around my furnace. We could build houses so we can live there with out being attacked and we could build stores so we don't need to hunt for food.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It made it hard when the enemies were spawned in the night because a creeper blew up my house in minecraft. I used wood for shelter, plus jonathan made a door and jennifer went out hunting. We can use minecraft to build stores and some of the stores would have food, some stores would have wood and other stuff we need for shelter.

    ReplyDelete
  30. it got easier because we did not die as quickly but still it was difficult to survive and the monsters were dangerous. I used wood for shelter so I would not be attacked. It was small but it was better than nothing because me and my team were hoping to not get attacked but we did. jon made the door and the chest. I also hunted and made the food. We can use minecraft to make stores and shelter for more life and if we were to proceed to make more generations of life in mindcraft.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Adding night monsters like spiders, zombies, skeleton, and creepers didn't really make a huge difference. I had a house that i had built, food and tools. So i did not face the monsters. For my shelter, i built a house out of wood, cobblestone, wool, sand, and dirt. It worked good. I had protection from any monsters. So my house was good.We can use Mine-craft to help build civilization by in minecraft they have villages. So we can build more and then there will be a lot more civilizations. Also in minecraft we can build more farms to help that too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Night affected are way to survive because we had things killing us and making us lose health and maybe die. I did try to use shelter at first because we had a ton of food then Jabril took it all and then Anthony killed himself in the game and then i gave up then try to survive but then i found Hannahs shelter ans survived. If we were protected it would be eaiser becuase we wouldnt have to worry about the monsters that much.

    ReplyDelete
  33. night effected my ability to survive by monsters spawning and tring to kill us.i dug a hole in the ground while Julia got the food so it was a team effort.for cave men we could spawn in a closed up cave and try and survive in the cave.

  34. 1. It made us prep even more
2.we used dirt and it helped alot
    3. We can build a minecraft town

  35. Adding night and enemies affected me because I had to make sure I had enough food to survive the night also when Mr.Dunn added enemies I had to make sure I didn't really attract them to me or my base. What I used for shelter was like a under ground bunker. There was a hole in the ground as it was becoming night time and I built a cobble stone wall so I can keep out mobs and people. How it worked was since I put the wall up it holds back the mobs and people and even if some how the mobs do get in. The wall holds them back long enough for me to get my tools ready so I can take them down. If we were to proceed in civilizations in Minecraft they generate villages and that could show how people soon build houses and towns. Also we would advance in tech and supplies if we continue in civilizations.

  37. night time effected me to survive because you had to try and live day and night with the monsters. I dug my shelter under ground and covered it up with dirt. we could simulate other needs of a community by collecting food and other thing for the community.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 1.The night did it affect me because that was the time most of the creatures or enemies came out. Also it was harder when I couldn't build shelter quicker or find food.
2.For my shelter I used sand. It worked a little bit because it was harder for the creatures to get to get to me.
3.We could use minecraft to simulate needs of a community by having more foods and more shelter. Thats how we could use minecraft t5o simulate needs of a community.

    ReplyDelete
  39. adding the night made it harder because. we had to find materials to make a house and tools to kill the zombies and other mobs. what me and Sarah did was we built off the side of a cliff but we should've built in the cliff to escape Mr.Dunn and so we could be more protected. if we proceeded i would try to get a lot of people and we could build a gigantic city so we could work together to fight away mobs.

    ReplyDelete
  40. When the night enemies were added to the game it effected me to survive because you have to build a hideout so you don't get caught. Also you have to kill animals because you need food to survive. But the hard thing is that you have little time to do all that. What I used for my shelter was that me and Ivanely went to the desert area and built a hideout to wear we were covered up and we couldn't see because it was dark. It work out because we did not get caught by any enemies and we survived the night. How Minecraft can be used to simulate the other needs of community is that it is like a fun way to learn about what you are learning about. For example we were learning about early humans and Mincraft shows you how they survived.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Night made it harder because at night we couldn't be outside or we had chances of death. But that made it fun because we had to make a shelter to survive. Brianna got dirt with Jacob and I got food for all of us. We also planned a back up house so if our house got blown up we had another it was underground and we saw a monster so we went in the emergency house.

    ReplyDelete
  42. i noticed that adding the enemies mad it harder to survive because there were ones with weapons and they where able to kill me.also i tried to make a shelter but by the time I got in it didn't work.finally to. go further in man kind you would have stores and car. those are the answers to my homework.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It made it so you would have to fight and run more than you used to before. Also it takes a lot of stamina .To survive i dag a hole and teamed up with other players for food and shelter. Finally we got killed by monsters and what would be cool next is if there were dogs and villages.

  44. Question 1: The night affected me and my friend because you added monsters but that made it hard and fun at the same time and it effect my health
Question 2:I used wood dirt with Jared,Sarah, mouse help me since we work in a friend groupme a mousa got food and Sarah and Jared got shelter
Question 3:we used minecraft to simleted real life because the monsters were based on worfs and people and we were building shelter and we got to commnacate and build

  45. Adding night/enemies affect your ability to survive because the night makes enemies and the enemies could kill you so you had to hide from them. For shelter I teamed up with Gianna she dug an underground shelter while i got food for us to share. I was very lucky to find food I found 3 sheep at the last minute and by the end I got 6 pieces of meat. I think if we were to proceed to a time where there were villages we could have some people build some houses while some other people are out collecting food and supplies.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The night/enemies effected my ability to survive because the monsters made it harder to live. Plus you have to build a shelter for the night so that nothing attacks you. I went into a small ditch and placed torches around so no mobs would come. Turns out it was a bas idea because I didn't think about endermen. We can use minecraft to make a town for the community. We can all work together to help out, get food, and fight off mobs. That is how adding mobs and night made it harder to live.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Adding night and enemies made it even more difficult survive because you only have a certain amount of time to build a shelter and find food before night. Me and Sophia made a house out of wood planks and dirt and it was a tiny house. Andy came and broke are house and fix it. It worked until Sophia tried to mine and three zombies came and attacked us. Me and Andy died while Sophia survived. If we proceed into civilization we could Minecraft to show the better tools they had. The better materials they had to build with.

  48. Q 1: It was even harder than the first hunters and gatherers. Even though it was a little... Teency winncy easier.... I had food and a well protected shelter. Me and my friend Blen partnered up. We built a small shelter made out of Aciaca and dirt. And Blen survived only half of the night. (Zombies!) And I survived until morning. I did not like That Mr. Dunn Was breaking holes into my roof and spawning zombies! Come on dude not cool! But this was a fun game!

Q 2: How did my shelter work? : Simple. I had 1 door, Acaica Walls, dirt walls, and a crafting table and furnace. I put dirt in front of my door so no monsters could get in, like zombies. Once Mr. Dunn Started spawning zombies, I always had my Sword ready. And When I saw for a death message of, "Paarth got killed by a EnderMan." I started to build a small area for my self. It was only one block. I had a torch and my crafting table. And six mutton. By the time day came.... I went out the wrong way... A creeper was standing right next to that wall.... It blew up... But didn't kill me. I had my sword at ready so I could find blen and take her back to shelter... But Spider jockys, zombies, creepers, endermen.... Were crouding around me... And i died from a creeper! the end!

Q 3: What that would simulate is a working together team! like when man built these great cities, then burnt them down. We would share logs, food, different things. and there would be houses that hold more then ten people, hospitals, etc. And help will be on our side! We would have hunters, farmers, nurses, chefs, merchants! It would simulate what it was like back with the pioneers! And simulate what it ment.

  49. adding night and enemies effected my way to survive because it was harder to survive. for example the enemies killed me and i was harder to find food. and i had to make a fort/ house. I used wood and rock. we start advancing material start growing human being.

  50. 1.night enemies affected my ability to survive because you had to build shelter and make weapons to defend yourself they could kill u by shooting u attacking u it did not really affect me because I did not die.
2.my shelter helped me because me and my group survived there were enemies outside our house and a spider ALMOST got in it helped block enemies we even had an escape path underground just in case. 3.If we continued to be a civilization we would have to stop being enemies speak more English or get some type of language and start creating more burners we would need a lot more food would need more and build more houses.

  51. Question 1. adding night and enemies affected me because i had to worry and make a shelter before it became night and worry about the monster's killing me and food and health.

Question 2. i used dirt for shelter. so what i technically did was dig a whole put dirt in some places to make walls. so i technically baccarat my self under ground.

Question 3. It would be easier because i could go to the store. i wouldn't have to worry about the monsters.

  52. Adding night enemies effected my ability to survive because you might be asleep and some one comes and kills you . that is why adding enemies in the night effected my ability to survive . What i used for shelter is blocks . I used blocks to build a cave to survive .If we were to proceed into civilizations i WILL USE MINECRAFT TO SIMULATE THE OTHER NEEEDS OF A COMMUNITY .i WILL SIMULATE BY HELPING THEN WITH THE FOOD I HAVE .

  53. Adding The night monsters made it even harder to surive, also when they came i still had little problems with my shelter. For my shelter i used dirt and i made my shelter on a top of a tree at first my shelter was working great but then i noticed i had open stops and then the monsters stated to acctact me.we can help simulate using mindcraft by haveing people work togeather and start finding easier ways to surive.
