This Week in the Lab - October 30-November 3

Kindergarten - Students will use Sphero to learn more about programming and creativity.
1st Grade - Students will learn how to highlight text and change to a specified font by playing "Find the Font" in Microsoft Word.
3rd Grade - Students will learn how to access and utilize a collaborative Google Slides presentation on a Chromebook.

This Week in the Lab - October 23-27

Kindergarten - Students will practice mouse and keyboard skills through various fall games and activities.
1st Grade - Students will create a fall acrostic poem using Microsoft Word.
2nd Grade - Students will use Keyboard Climber to help them quickly find the letters on the keyboard and use both hands.
5th Grade - Students will use Google Earth to apply the concepts of latitude and longitude.

This Week in the Lab - October 16-20

Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade - Students will receive their new code.org accounts and start the course assigned to them.  These accounts can be used in their classrooms as well as at home.  Code.org uses "block programming" to teach beginner computer science concepts.

2nd Grade - Students will use Google Earth and Nearpod to learn more about the world around them.

Kindergarten/5th grade - 5th grade students will share their audio version of the book "Whoever You Are" by Mem Fox with a kindergarten student.

This Week in the Lab - October 2-6

5th Grade - Students will use Audacity to create an audio version of the book "Whoever You Are" by Mem Fox, complete with sound effects, to be shared with kindergarten students.

Kindergarten - Students will practice mouse skills while completing challenges on Crayon Physics.

1st Grade - Students will learn how to change the font, size, and color in Microsoft Word.

2nd Grade - Students will learn how to use Google Earth to learn more about various locations.

This Week in the Lab - September 25-29

Kindergarten - Students will use various websites and games to practice mouse skills.

3rd Grade - Weather and Excel Project - Students will collect the latitude of various cities around the world using Google Earth.  They will gather temperature data using weather websites and then graph the two, looking for a relationship.

4th Grade - Students will participate in a collaborative Google Slides activity.
