Minecraft First Civilizations Wrap-up

Please answer all the questions below in a SINGLE comment.  Do not write multiple comments for this post.

1.) Describe your experience building the city.  What went well?  What went poorly?  What still needs to be done?

2.) Do you think this would be easier with more people?  Why or why not?

3.) Do you think that civilizations with more people had an advantage over those with fewer people?  Why or why not?

4.) In order to truly be considered a civilization, a society needs to be stable enough to have jobs that don't directly contribute to survival:  artists, performers, musicians, sculptors, etc.  In that case, is our Minecraft society actually a civilization?  Why or why not?

  1. I'm a rancher. My experience for building the city up was okay. It was okay as my opinion because one of our members wanted to do everything but that's okay because there "more skilled" I guess you could say but other then that it was very easy building the fences and the habitats. Even though i'm not a builder the main city was not finished and that is a possible problem.I honestly do think that it would be less of a challenge if more people were involved. We have the smallest class and we only had about 3 people per group. I do think that people with a bigger society do have an advantage weather its building, crafting, mining ext. No, as of right now we are not a civilization because like you said, we don't have people actually with jobs such as restaurants or musicians. So, we could make our civilization officially by adding jobs.

  2. I'm not a builder but the building part went good because I provided the community with lots of cobblestone because I am I miner.I think it would be easier with more people because we could be getting more work done in the amount of time that we had.Not really because the classes with more experiences could get more done.I don't think it was because we did not have those jobs in our community all though we had the most popular or most important.

  3. My expirence as a builder went fine. If i can rate my percentage about this round it would be a 88 percent out of 100% It was pretty hard getting stuff done in 4 days but we still got stuff done.MY hunger was a really bad problem i died at least 3 times because of hunger. I also think it wouldnt be easier with alot of people because it wouldnt be organized.

  4. My experience of building the city was okay because I had some times that got me kinda mad but some times that kept me happy.Keeping enough animals to provide more went poorly because Sean killed 1 of the 2 cows we had, so we could breed anymore. Also Sean let out all of our chickens and smashed all of our eggs. Some things went good though. Breeding the pigs was easy ad getting wool from the sheep. I think the civilization would be easier to maintain because more people could do more jobs and provide more food. A civilization with more people have an disadvantage because you'll need more animals to provide food more bunkers and there's a lot of people the Pharaoh needs to worry about. No we are not a social class because we don't have a social pyriamad

  5. My experience with building this city was pretty harsh, especially because I was getting so many bone meal orders when there was about twenty-one stacks in the chest already for them to have, the problem was that they really just did not like taking it, they probably wanted me to deliver it to them by hand which I am not doing because I already have enough orders, and your not gonna top up on that by making me find you and having me to give it to you like that. And it was also harsh because of the people taking things there not suppose to in different chests, for other roles and not to forget people breaking walls for shortcuts and having me to fix their mistakes with breaking walls , and the floor. Although it would be easy with more people because I could have just a bit more help with crafting, not to forget gathering more supplies. Honestly I think that civilizations with more people are dominant since they can get more done then civilizations with fewer people but their is yet a small advantage for civilizations with fewer people, they wouldn't use up as much food as a higher class civilization would, so they could put good food to good use. Lastly, I do not really consider our Minecraft society to actually be a civilization because we would need, musicians ,guards, and not to forget a leader or a government to turn to when people turn on us, and I'm talking about one single government not just like our little system with leaders of certain categories and groups.

  6. 1: I am not a builder but or classes city was comstructed very well. Some things that still had to be done was that the ranchers which i was had to bred ore abimals and give the crafters for food. Also some the farmers needed to crop and grow more plants. There wasn't that much for in the cooked food or in the food chest. SSome things that won't well is that all the animals provided everybody enough food to live. Also the farmers had a enough food for the ranchers to give the animals so they can breed more animals. The miners had enough bmaterials for the builders to build buildings so we can sleep. Some things that went poorly was that the ranchers killed all the chickens. Also we only had one cow so it couldn't put breed anymore animals without 2 or more cows.
2: It depends because we would get more done but if the spaces were any smaller othe people would get in their way while they were trying to build something or feed animals or kill them. Also they would be in their wa when the crafters are trying to make or cook something.
3:it depends on how much space and materials you have. If there isn't enough space people would get in your way and if there wasn't a enough materials people would take. Them and then not do anything when you need them.
4:Yes it is a civilization because we are a group of people and no matter how many or what KIND OF JOBS THERE ARE WE ARE STILL CONSIDERED A CIVILIZATION BECAUSE WE ARE A GROUP OF PEOPLE BUT IF THERE WAS ONLY ONE PLAYER PLAYING THEN NO BECAUSE THERE ISNT A GROUP OF PEOPLE.

  7. I am a crafter. The buildings were big but very little of them.It went great, we had to find things that kept us busy because there was nothing to craft. The raw materials were poor so we were very poor.I think only three job should have more people, the builders, lumberjacks and miners. The building could've been built faster and more of them. We would've had more wood to build with and the ores to cook and then craft.Other jobs would be to overcrowded.I think that people with a bigger civilization would have an advantage over the people with less people, because we would have more of everything expect food and we could fend off attackers. Our Minecraft project was not a civilization because we didn't have the arts, government, writing(expect for signs)also we didn't have government. we need those things we needed for a civilization. Also we didn't have a social pyramid.

  8. My experience as a crafter went VERY well.I loved the job a lot,its very fun to do with the crafting of tools or cooking food.Being a crafter went very well Me,Milan, and An worked together very well even if An was holding a LOT of it.We got all the supplies from the other groups we also got a lot of request, beds axes, sheer.I dont think anything really went to bad i never died so that was good i let out one of the chickens from the Ranchers thought.*SORRY*We still need a lot of things done from the other groups to also provide us with resources.Like food to cook for the civilization and other things.I dont think it would be easier with a lot of people because that means more everything for everybody. For example we would need more food and animals and beds for at night when all the monsters of the night come out.It would also be bad because it would probably took more time if there was only maybe one REALLY good person and a little ok people and then a HUGE amount of non-experienced.I think it would be a dis-advantage because we would need a lot more food and so many other items. It would also be really and because the more people you have the quicker all of our resources go.I do not think we are a civilization because we do not have any priest or government officials or artisan.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I am a lumberjack, and I feel I did contribute but I didn't really help build. In a way I did help by providing the wood along with my other team members. But the crafters had to turn the wood to planks and then the builders used it to create some pretty nice shelters. It would have been nice to have some more people in general to get more food and to help build the shelters quicker. But in my case we didn't really need more lumberjacks. In fact near the end the crafters weren't even using the wood and it just stacked up in the chest. Also I do think civilizations with more people had an advantage, they could get more food for the people. Then again there will be more people to feed and i'm sure some people can argue against me. But since there is more people to gather food, in my opinion it will even out. Also there will be more people to build shelters which would mean that the shelters we be made quicker and easier. In the case that a civilization need to have jobs that don't contribute to society, then no our minecraft civilization was not a real civilization. All our jobs were strict and we only had jobs that contributed to society, but I think that wasn't a bad thing.

  10. Being a miner was OK but there were some bumps on the road.First of all me and my partner did really well because we found lots of iron, gold, coal, redstone, and even diamonds and we even got to blow stuff up! I think we would of done better if we had more people there could of ben a better city.I think civilizations with more people had advantages because more people means better army.I don't think we were a civilization because we didn't have any of those things.

    ReplyDelete
  11. My experience building the city was awesome! Being a breeder was really fun. Just because my job was to breed and kill the animals. But sometimes my job would get a little bit stressful. The good news about this is that we had a lot of pigs we we provided our community with pork chops. But the down side about that is when we mad the pens for the animals we decided to make the pens attached to each other and we payed the price for that, because some of the animals went into a different cage with a different animal. the one thing that we still have to work on is feeding the horses. This is because horses only eat golden apples or golden carrots. So if you try to give them anything else, they wont eat it. And the miners and crafters we running low on the gold so we couldn't breed the horses until the miners got the gold and the crafters built the actual food. I think our civilization would be easier with more people because the more people we have the more things we will have and we will move at a quicker pace then we did before. i think that civilizations with more people have an advantage then one with fewer people. I think this because like said earlier if there are more people, you can get more done in a faster time. but people with fewer people in a group can't get as much done in a fast efficient way. Our civilization is not really a civilization. i think this because with theses jobs nobody was really finished. the builders may have the buildings set up but they didn't really move on to any other jobs. And just because the builders were done doesn't make our society a civilization because us the ranchers, lumberman, crafters, miners, and farmers were not yet done with our jobs. So NO our society is NOT and nowhere near being a civilization.

  12. I was a crafter. My experience was boring because we just sat around waiting for requests that no one gave. Crafting things did go well and me and my group did pretty well together. What went poorly? Well defiantly the requests, we got like 10 out of all the days. Nothing needs to be completed we have no requests which means no work.

I think the more the people the more the work. But then again we would have more stuff to do as a crafter.

No I do not think civilizations with more people had more advantages than the ones with less because if you more people that means you have to gather resources more. Even though you do have more people and you need more food you can have some of those people help with the food. But I still think no because it would be the same as the civilizations with less people.

No, we were not a real civilization because we would need something religious and since we didn't have a ziggurat or some type of religious or sculptures, arts , dances, writing we are not a civilization.

  13. My experience of building went fine, it hard to done everything in 4 days but I think we still make it.I think it would be easier to have more people because is will be easier to build more houses or is will be easier to work for other jobs but is still depend on how we work as a team if we won't work at a team not thing will be done.A civilization with more people have an disadvantage because we will need more animals for food , stuff, tools and many more things for everyone but I think if we work at a team so than no problem.

  14. my experience of being a builder was pretty interesting because we were building one whole building but, we kept running out of supplies or falling off the building. There were only 3 of us working on the building so it was harder getting stuff done. Overall it was really amazing experience. It would kind of be easy with one more person because we would get more stuff done. If night time came around nobody would have a place to sleep. I think a civilization would have more of an advantage because everyone would have to pitch in and help if they want to survive. Plus there would be things getting done faster then with fewer people. Our minecraft could possibly be a civilization because we don't have another civilization to trade with for food, clothes, spices, etc. But we probably get away with the civilization part because we have crafters, builders, miners, and more. we also have some food, buildings, crafting and stuff to survive. Minecraft does a very great job of simulating what they went through trying to survive. It makes you feel like your in there shoes at that time.

  15. I'm a rancher, and my experience was fine, but it was hard because I had no idea what to do, luckily my partners helped me. If we had more people it would be easier because we could get more things done. I think civilizations with more people have an advantage because they could do things faster and on time. No, because the Minecraft society did not have any artists, musicians, actors or scepters.

  16. I am a farmer. My experience building are city was great. When planting food it went great as we knew who was doing what and when. When growing the food it went poorly as we often ran out of bone meal so we had to go get more. I think it would be easier with more people because there could be 2 people on one thing to get it done faster. A civilization with more people will have a greater advantage then ones with fewer because the more people in one group can get things done twice as fast. No are minecraft society is not a civilization as we have no jobs that don't directly contribute to survival all are jobs directly contribute to survival.

  17. 1.) My expierience of building a city was great. It was great because i got the job I wanted with a lot of nice people. It was really fun I just had to be patient because I had to wait for people to bring me items to craft other things. Another reason is because it was funny. An was taking all the ood even though he didnt need it, and he was doing other peples jobs. What went well was that all the players were able to work together and get things done. Also it was a good idea to write in the books that way it didnt leave the crafters with nothing to do. what went poorly was the fact that th crafters crated what was needed but people never got it because they never checked some of the chests with supplies. What neede to be done was that minors needed to bring back exotic things, ranchers needed more animals, lumberjacks were still cutting down trees, farmers needed to make more food, buiders needed to build more buildings, and crafters needed to deliver more items to people.
2.) If we had more people it would be easier and harder. It would be easier because we would get a lot more done. It would be harder because we would need to provide more like food and more rooms and buildings.
3.) Yes because if you have not a lot of people and you are about to go to war and another empire has a lot then it would most likely be the one with a lot a of people that wins. Also you will get a lot more things done in order to keep it a city-state with a lot of owned land.
4.) No I dont think that we are a real civilization yet because we do not have a real social pyramid. We dont have a pharaoh, priests, musicians, sulptors, artists, scribes, etc. In order to be a civilization we need to have all of those jobs and as of right now we don't have all of them yet.

  18. My minecraft experience on the last day, as a builder, was really successful. Although our team didn't get everything finished, I think we did pretty good for a group of 4, with only 2 experienced players that are pretty good, including me. We had our sleeping headquarters that was almost completed, we just needed beds and the roof, which was nearly done. This was really hard to since we didn't have enough food for us, since we didn't use up our hunger wisely, which meant we couldn't run fast. Building and working together went really well. Although there were some parts that went well, there was a lot of times that went down hill. Firstly, we had no time at all to build all the things that needed to be built. Secondly, we had many problems with materials. We had put in many requests in the chests for certain things, but they seemed to never come. We had no wool to make beds, and we didn't have time to wait for the crafters to make beds, so I did what I had to do, and I found some shears, and got myself some wool. Which was much quicker than the other way. Thirdly, we didn't have many people. We had 3 people work on 1 project and 1 person to work on another. Even though we had problems with building, it was still fun to build cool structures.
This project to build a society was pretty hard, with around 22 people, so I definitely think that having more people would help. It would help because if you have lots of people, more jobs can get done and building, farming, cutting trees, and mining would be easier. Civilizations with more people will definitely have an advantage over civilizations with less people because with more people you could have more food to be made, but at the same time, the more people, the more people you have to feed. Also, a civilization could possibly get disorganized with a lot of people wandering around. Although we only had a few days, and we didn't get everything done, sadly, I can't say we were a civilization. Like question #4 said, to truly be a civilization, a society needs to be stable enough so that you can have other activities that aren't important to survive. Also, our civilization we have right now is not stable, and there are a lot of things missing to be a stable society. But at the end of this project, I think this was a really cool way to somehow symbolize how earlier civilizations were, and how they lived, and this was really fun to try.

  19. I was a miner and a I provided them cummunity with cobble stone so that's they could build walls. Some of the stuff that happened was bad because I would always go really deep into their ground so I couldn't find my way out. Also there other stuff was really good because I found so many rock like gold, red stone, iron, and coal. It could be easier because then we could find more rock and stone for their builders. It could also be harder because if there's to many people then we would need more food, more housing and it would just not be as organized. It could have an advantage because houses will be built faster miners could find more rocks and stone, but again it would mean we have to feed more people, and build bigger homes. I don't think that it is a civilization because we need more jobs and a bigger community so that's we can have more jobs and more people.

  20. My experience as a builder in Minecraft was difficult and fun at the same time. I feel that my team and I got a decent amount of things done in the time given. Our teamwork was good and that helped a lot in the process. The only thing that went wrong for me was exactly what I predicted in my earlier response. The roof I built was too large and complicated, therefore I was not able to finish. I only had a few blocks left to do, but I ran out of time. If I had more time all of the interior including most of the flooring would need to be done along with the 20 something beds that would be required. With that done we would have a great home. I do think that with more people the task of building would go much smoother and quicker. In a way I kind of feel like it might be a little bit more chaotic, but I feel like it might be worth it if we want a good home. A bigger civilization will almost always have an advantage over the smaller ones due to more brain power working together. Like I stated before there might be confusion and chaoticness but eventually people will do the job that they were permitted to do and learn how to work together and get along. Although the town we built in Minecraft had some characteristics to be a civilization, it was not a complete one. I agree that there does need to be jobs other than hard laboring ones. All and all our Minecraft civilization was a success even though it might not be considered a full on civilization. - Emily E.

  21. 1. Even though I wasn't a builder I thought that the people that were a builder did a good job at it. We stayed on a good pace on which the builders got some work in.Something that was kinda bad was that we needed more builder because we only had one big house.
2.Like I said in the first one if we had more people it would have gone quicker and we would had lots of work done in our civilization.
3.I would Say yes and no because if there were more people that could have a possibility that would lead up to people not working together, and yes because the progress would have been much faster and things might have gone more smoother .
4.I would concerned what we did a civilization because we had people with there own jobs and had building up and everything like a normal civilization .

  22. (Rancher) 1) My experience was interesting because we were rushing all over the place. Breeding the animals went well, but feeding them went poorly because we didn't have most of the food from the farmers. The food was stuff like seeds and Golden Apples/Golden Carrot. This was hard because the farmers needed the seeds and we had no gold.
2)I think it would have been easier with more people because I feel like we could have accomplished a lot more and we would have a bigger city.
3)I think civilizations with more people had an advantage because they could do more a lot faster in less time .
4)Do I think it is a real civilization? No, because we don't have jobs that don't directly contribute to survival all we have is stuff to live.

  23. In my experience of being a Rancher some things went poorly others went as planned. One thing that was successful was breeding the animals because we did get a lot of raw meat out of all the animals and supplies like whool, feathers, and mostly the meat. Some things that went poorly were the animals getting into the wrong pens and getting out and us having to chase them a d in the worst case scenario we'd have to kill them. Things that needed to be finished were getting the pens separated so that the chickens or any other animals got into different pens. Also we needed more room for the pens because thsee were to many animals. To me I think it would have been easier to have more people so we have people that can go by the gate when they see an animal in the woods so they can bribe them into coming into the pens or help when the Animals get loose or even just help breed them. I do think that civilizations that had more people had more advantages over the civilizations that had fewer people because their civilization maybe has more advantages of greater success because maybe they double the workers which means double the success. I do not think that we are a full civilization beca u se we don't have musicians, artists, performers, sculptors, and etc.

  24. In my civilization I was not there for the last day, but on Friday I could tell there was a lot of work to be done. The part that did not go well was how some kids were not doing their jobs. They were off task often. The part that went well was the farmers began getting more crops, thanks to the bone meal and the builders were hard at work making our homes and buildings. No, I do not think it would be easier with more people in my opinion. I contemplate this because whenever I play mine craft on the xbox I get more things done quickly because I know how I want it and the way I want it to work out. More people means more ideas and more opinions. In this situation I think more people would have been an advantage to the survival of the civilization. I believe this because with more people many jobs could get done at the same time and easier. No, our civilization is only for survival, a real civilization has enjoyment not only work. I think if our civilization was stronger and had no more room to build then I believe we could have been able to have different jobs that did not contribute to the survival of the civilization.

    ReplyDelete
  25. During this long process it took long hard work and for us being up against the end of the day we have to rush around and a lot went good and a lot went bad, but in the end we had some success with the building and everything, but also some with the building went poorly along with pretty much everything else. I think that it would be much more difficult to have the civilization with more people because if you have more people the more you have to feed and also the more chaotic it would be.No I do not think it would be more of an advantage with more people because with more people there is more chaos. No our city is not a civilization because it doesn't have artisans musicians etc. so no it is not a civilization.

  26. I'm not a builder but I think that building went okay and that the builders did some good progress and some things went really well. I don't belive that anything went poorly today or so far. Some things that still need to be done is probably still like with the ranchers. They still have a big space that could be used. I do think it would be eaiser with more people because we can get things done faster. Like if we get one thing done fast then we can move on into others things and everything could then be done. Yes I do think that the civilization with more people took advantages over those with fewer people because like they can try to get them to help them. Yes I do think we are accutaly a civilization because we have a certain job we need to do and were a big group/society.

  27. My experience with building the city was actually very easy. What went well was that Mya and I collected enough wood that no one asked for more because we momentarily brought stacks of wood to the ‘Wood’ chest. When we planted more trees they overlapped and grew so tall that we could not chop them down. We still need to collect more apples and tree saplings to replant. I think that more people would be a good idea because we would collect wood faster, but more people would also not be a good idea because that means that we will go through food faster. I think that civilizations with more people have an advantage over those with fewer people because they can get tons of more work done and faster. I also think that civilizations with less people have an advantage because they don’t have to worry about food shortages. Our Minecraft society is actually no a civilization because we only have farmers, ranchers, crafters, lumberjacks, and builders. If we had those plus artists, performers, musicians, sculptors, etc. we would be an actual civilization.

  28. I am a miner, but when I was mining was easy but I got lost and at the same time I helped the city by finding torches, finding gold and getting a mass of cobblestone,it was also hard because we did not a lot of time.I think it is going to be a good thing that we had 2people in our group because if there was a lot of people, people would be asking for food and a lot of gold, cobblestones, food for animals, etc.also we did good progress.I think that less people could work because if there is more people you would need stuff just as blocks for builders Miners would need to give builders blocks until miners are stuck under ground from all the blocks that they given and people if do not know what are you doing they are going to ruin it and everyone would get stressed out and not do or finish what they are supposed to do, good thing that we are one of the smallest classes.I do think that it is a civilization, but not a complete civilization we need to finish our jobs and builders build houses and me miners supposed to give the builders a lot of blocks to the builders to finish the building and people not be greedy and give the crafters and ranchers stuff, so the ranchers animals do not die and the crafters make stuff to improve the city, and the lumber jack give the ranchers apples so the animals do not die,and also one thing people need to give the farmers seeds so they complete the farming area. That is how the civilization going to be complete.

  29. I a builder and my experience is OK but i still need some work. what went well was we got stuff done and that's good. what was poorly was the teamwork everyone went their own separate ways. We didn't finish the Pharaohs place and an entrance for the people. No i don't think it would be easier because some people might not know what their suppose to do so they just wonder everywhere. The civilizations that had more people might not have had an advantage because like i said some of the people might just be wondering not doing anything.I don't think we're a civilization because we don't have artist performers musicians and sculptor we tried as hard as possible to make it seem like civilization but we all know that its not real.

  30. Being a lumberjack had some ups and downs but overall being a lumberjack was fun. Some things needed some work like trying to plant all the saplings. What went well was how fast we were able to chop down the trees. We still need to chop down more trees we only had a dozen stacks in 4 days.I think that it would be easier with more people because we can chop down more trees.I think it would be better with less people because all the food would last longer.I think that minecraft is partly a civilization because everybody has a role to play but its a little less realistic.

  31. My experience building the city went well when we all communicated well and work together well the only bag things where when i was put to jail for growing coco beans and giving out cookies. No because if we had more people it would make it harder to communicate but there would be more people that would hog things. No Because some people might hog things from their own group. Our mine craft would be considered a civilization because we have people that are working a little bit which a civilization is calm about what they do because they know that their city wont run low on food.

  32. My experience building the city was actully quite fun. Me and John Martian found a bunch of gold, and coal. Which was pretty fun.
I think the job would be kinda easier if we had more people. Since it was only me and John working the job was harder.
Having less people (espically having a short amount of students) made us not gonna be able to finish our city in time. Which was a terriable thing. I mostly feel bad for the builders because they didnt have enough syples.
It my opinion.... i think we would have a better socialized city if we had the regular activites as they did back then.

  33. Question 1.We still have a lot of work to do for our community but we are getting there slowly.I am a lumberjack and its harder for me because there are only two of us so everyone depends on us a lot for wood and apples.I don't think we are having a lot of problems. We still need a lot of supplies from people but i'm surprised we are doing so good.Question 2.Yes, i think it is easier with more people because we can get a lot more done if it was one or two people it would take such a long time.Question 3.Yes, again going back to question 2 it would be easier because everybody to play their part in the civilization.

  34. As for building the city it went fine for us farmers because we provided a stable food supple. No because my team and I would have to make 2 times the crops.Yes because they would easily over power us.No because not even one building was done.

  35. I was the head of the farmers. We just needed to stock up food for civilians and (sometimes) animals. Everything went well, besides us running out of seeds, and ONE OF US KEPT REQUESTING FOR BONE MEAL AND WE HAD LIKE TWO DC's OF BONE MEAL WHICH WAS INSANE. Besides those problems, everything was fun and it went smoothly. Nothing else needs done done besides cooking potatoes, and harvesting the last of our crops. Just a few people died of starvation which is a good thing since everyone didn't die of starvation. It would be easier with more people since farming is like the easiest job. It would be easier with more people, since everything would be more efficient. YES groups with more people had an advantage over smaller groups because, it would be easier with more people. Just tell them what to do and wow more people helping you out. The more the merrier, right? NO our Minecraft project is not a civilization, if we had a week or two more to perform and get everything working, yes, it will be. But there is minor tweeks we need to do and there is also MAJOR tweeks we need to do, for our Minecraft “thing” to be considered a Minecraft civilization. But it was fun while it lasted. We don't have music, art, religion and much more. Looking forward to round 3! :D

  36. My experience as a crafter was very good because i know how to craft stuff in minecraft, and the fun thing is my team has jamir and milan, the thing that i don´t want to be crafter because is kinda bored because there were not enough stuff to craft so we have too wait, and i was the leader of the team crafter. I think it would be easier with more people because there will be more food, Materials and increase more builder, that is a good thing because it will be more faster to building a city and we could have more house. if there a civilization with less people they would not survive builder because other civilization will come and kill them cause they were weak and less people.i think minecraft it a civilization because we need to survive by use food, shelter or monster will come and kill you like in real life but in real life there were other civilization like Assyrian or Akkadian and more but i forgot.

  37. I think that if we had more people, such as crafters, we could have more supplies to make more. Although we did have some issues doing and getting the supplies, we could have done a bit better if our builders had some more experience. Another thing we could improove is our time limit. I don't call myself a pro but attempting to build an entire civilization in four days with about 40 minutes each. I understand that we can't really expand the time we have, but mine craft has become very important to me in the last four years, so it would mean a lot if could make more days and periods to really achieve the greatness.

  38. My minecraft experience was average. I feel mt group (farmers) could have provided more food to the ranchers considering they didn't have that much animals. So their fault was our faults. We did though provide tons of food to the market so they could craft so we did our job decently. I dont think that tis would be easier to do if the community was increased. We would have to provide more to the whole community and it would get out of hand. Luckily we had a pretty small classroom. I think we had an advantage because having less people means the less to provide. But also the more work for an individual.Lastly I don,t think we were a true civilization. We did not do that great with the buildings and religion like ziggurats even though we didn't need them. That will wrap this paragraph up.

  39. My experience of doing minecraft was good.Things that went well are us having animals and building pens.Things that went poorly are someone letting the chickens out and someone killing one out of two cows.We still need to make more pens and get more animals.I think it will be easier if we did have more people because we could grow more food and have more jobs also we will have more people to help with the jobs.I think it would be an advantage because we will have more people to help us with the jobs,we would have more food, and we could help each other. In our minecraft game we are not a civiliazation because we do not have sculptures, artists, preformers, and musicains. Since we don't have these things its not included as an civilization.

  40. I think the city is good for the time we were given. The builders did a fantastic job and all the other roles did amazing playing their part. I think this would be way easier with more people because their would be more people to do different jobs. I think that civilizations with more people would have a great advantage because they could do alot more things than civilizations with fewer people. No it is not a civilization because we only had the main couple of jobs but not things for decoration. That is what I think about our minecraft project.

  41. my experience was pretty good. we didnt get to finish the ziggurat or the pyramid. it went really well.i do think it wouldve been easier with more people because the process woold go up much more.it would pick more people becuase we would have more people in the jobs.

  42. My experience was awesome I think that we needed more buildings. The buildings went poorly but it is not all there falt they needed more tools and ideas to what the building were for.The farmers were the best they had lots of food for people.
I think that if there were more people that it would be easier because it would have more help to do things.
Yes they did have more advantages because they would have more people to do things and have lots of help.
They are civilizations because they have people that work well together.

  43. My time playing as a lumberjack was ok, but my favorite was mining. I did ok i guess i get lots of wood but some apple. Its ok for me because the important thing is that i got wood. the city i think did ok, but i would prefer a small group like 6 or 5 people. The reason why is if you have a small group then you would have to worry about 6 or 5 people not 15 or 18 people. For me i'd like to work by myself and only 2 more people. I think 6 or 5 people are fun to play with. I think this is what a real this is what a real civilization would face in the real world.- Eddy Amesquita

  44. In my Minecraft experience I was a builder. I think that our team eventually all had a job, but it was not like that in the beginning. On the first two days we were all over the place ,and we had no jobs. We thought we would be able to get everything done but we actually accomplished very little sadly. We still are waiting on the stones to make the walls that we are due too build. Also I'm not sure if we are finished the bunkers ,but it is highly doubt we are finished.

I think that it would be a tad bit easier, but at the same time I think it would be a challenge. Reason being there will be more people doing the same thing can be too much for a leader to handle. Especially with different levels of experience , but if there is more people I would assume things would get done faster.

Yes ,I do think that civilizations with higher population had an advantage. They probably had more antiques and other things to make. They would probably have more time to there selves too.

I would not consider our settlement a civilization yet. It is starting to look like one ,but we are not quite there yet. We barely have any food, most of buildings needed to be built aren't built yet. We don't even have a temple yet. No this is not a civilization yet ,but it is the start of a great empire.(if Mr.Dunn stops freezing us!)

  45. 1.)experience~ My experience was great and fun! good~ Christain found diamonds! We found a lot of iron and gold and even better we worked well with each other! bad~ we all kept dying and I dyed once. We dyed from hunger, falling in lava, falling in the ravines, and getting lost in caves. I think we need more buildings built so we could start living in them and doing fun religious ceremonies. Also we need more diamonds to make armor for when we play in survival mode of the game.
2.)no, I think it is ok the way it is and how we were partnered up. If everyone started to work on the same mining place at once then it will be hectic and crowded. Everyone will also hog up area's and there will not be anything else to mine and we all might(possibly) destroy the village.
3.)Yes because they will get things ready faster and beat the civilization with fewer people in a battle or a war.
4.)No, because we don't have those jobs in our civilization but we are almost there. We are this close.~ all we have done ~ What we need done ~ I can't wait till round #3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. 1. It went good but we needed more animals. Also things to breed the animals. Being a Rancher is really hard with only 5 people. 2. Not really because you would be giting in people ways. 3. I say less people would be better. The reason why is because you wouldn't get in front of people. 4. No because we don't have all those things. We just have normal jobs. Donald

  47. We were good building the city, we were the ranchers. Being a rancher was easy something that went well was building the fences for the animals. We had a plan and it worked out. Something we also did well was if someone needed something like wool we already had it for them. Some Things that went wrong though we couldn’t kill the animals till day 3 because there wasn’t enough breeding materials. At the end we didn’t get to breed horses and two other people in our group started breaking things. We still need to get cow meat (beef).
Yes it would be easier with more people because we could kill was sheer faster. We could get materials out. As a rancher for most of the part we really didn’t have to do anything till the animals grow up. More people could go to make orders and get food. With just us people kept going not knowing if other people from the group were there.
Yes larger groups have an advantage because they have more people to work on one thing. We had a larger group so we got lots of things done. No are project wasn’t a civilization because even though we had our builders, ranchers, farmers, etc. We didn’t have the seven characteristics. We had some of them like Social Structure,Stable Food Supply. We obviously had those two stable food supply-crafters. Social structure is everyone we all had a role or job. One that we didn’t have was Writing. We only wrote the orders which really didn’t count.

  48. My experience of being a rancher was fun! My favorite job was ranching, because i was with animals. For the most part, I think everything went well. I do think my partners could've helped a little more, and the builders could've worked on separate building rather than one giant one. I personally do not think this would've been easier with more people. The more people, the more work the ranchers and farmers had to do to feed everyone, the more work the lumber jacks and farmers had to do, and the more work the builders and miners would have to do. Overall, I think it would be a lot of more work taking care of more people.I think having more people in a civilization would be an advantage and a disadvantage. Like i said,, the more work for everyone, but you could also get more supplies faster. Making it better/easier, but also worse/harder. Although we don't have artists or musicians, etc., I do think our society was a less- advanced civilization. Our civilization wasn't very advanced, but it was a simple civilization.

  49. My experience was cool because I learned a lot of new things about minecraft. What went well was that the lumberjacks got stuff done and it was pretty easy. What went poorly was that we were starving so we had to keep the apples from the trees because we were so far away from the drop off place. Nothing really needs to be done on are part. I think it would be easier with more people because with more people there would be less ruckus, also the civilizations with less people might not get all the jobs done like the ones with more people. I think it is a civilization because the groups worked together and made everything work out great.

  50. First is number one is what went wrong and what went good.Well first is what went poorly is that WE DIDNT GET NO COCOA BEANS! But me and my friend made a Underground base under crafters area and made A UNDERGROUND COCOA FARM.Also we didnt finish our build. What went good is after the second day we didnt starve YYYAAAAYYYY.Second question is yes because you could get more done.We had 19 people. With 25 People we coudve done more.Third question is That goes with my awenser to 2. If we have more people more work will get done. Last question is Yes you dont need those to be a civilazation. YOU JUST NEED PEOPLE And jobs to survive. So teachers no matter how far we got. WE WILL ALWAYS BE A CIVILAZATION.

  51. My experience of creating our "civilization" was rather exciting. I was given the job of a rancher which means I am told to deal with the different species of animals. The majority of my time in my group of ranchers went well. Although a part of it did not... My colleagues and I had trouble getting "golden apples and carrots". When my team and I decided to request the fruit for our animals, the crafters were not cooperating and did not provide us with such items. But thankfully Grace the lumberjack was able to give us some of her apples in exchange for baked potatoes. We were then able to feed our group of horses to keep them alive for another day. Nothing was needed to be completed in our plans except to keep the cycle of life going for the animals. In my opinion I do believe that more people is helpful. Although I wouldn't push the population too much only because of the quantity of the food we are given. I think that a civilization that is more populated would have a better advantage because there are more people for more jobs and then more more supplies can be produced. Now, I know that I mentioned the quantity of food would hurt the civilization because more people must eat but if you think about it- the more people farming, the more food produced! So there you go. Now to finish up round two, my thoughts on our society being a civilization, is that it isn't really a civilization. I feel this way because our society only created jobs that were a must or are needed for only survival. I believe we would be a civilization if there was maybe artist or performers just like you had mentioned, so my thought is that we are just a small society. -Joe A

  52. My experience was great.I think that we need s more ores for more things, the things that we needed our civilization was a little more buildings.
I think if we had more people would be easier because more things would be getting done.
I think that people who had more people for civilization had a bigger advantage because more things was getting done faster.
es they are still a civilization because they still had people working together and no arguing.

  53. 1. i wasn't really a builder but i help make food for the others which was really hard because we didn't have enough bone meal and something that was a great success was how 'most' of the people didn't die.
2.yes it would be easier with more people because if you have more people more things can get done more people can survive and more building will be built but there is a giant problem with more people because most people could take all the food and some people could die or not have any food and starve.
3.no,because the group with more people could die if they dont have much food or have less food and then the group with less people could get things done faster cause if you have more people im sure they wont get along.

  54. The city is looking pretty good. The farmers seem like they are doing a very good job. Crafters are always busy since many people are writing request for tools. We have plenty of wood thanks to the lumberjacks. Ranchers are doing great! We have a variety of animals and we are doing very well with sheep. What happened was the wolfs all disappeared. On the first day, we had plenty of wolfs and we felt very proud of ourselves. The next day they were gone. We first thought that the world didn't fully load but when we spawned in, they were all gone.
I think it would be easier if we had more people because we could do less work and accomplish more in less amount of time. I think civilization with more people had an advantage over others with less people because the more people you have, it’ll be much faster and much easier to complete jobs. In the armies, you will have a better chance of winning since you have more soldiers.
I don't think that we are a civilization yet because we weren't stable enough to have other jobs like artists, musicians and performers. We needed a little bit more buildings and animals to be stable enough to have those other jobs that don't contribute to survival.

  55. I don't really have a very good experience because I don't play mine craft on a daily bases all I do is get wood for the builders so they could build buildings. Everything went well because I jut collect wood for the city only one thing went wrong that's when I got lost that's all. A lot of things need to be done we need a place to sleep we also need a market for food and trading deals lastly we need a place to have meetings so yeah we need to get a lot of things done. I think we would get majority of the city done if we had twenty more people in our class because more people can get together and build more stuff by the end of the week. Yes but more people is not everything you need people that are fast at getting things done in a little bit of time and you need people that are very strong to left heavy things there is one more person you need is someone with brains. I would not consider us a civilization because we are trying not to die and Mr.Dunn said it his self we need to survive long enough until we get the city finished.

  56. my experience with builder was pretty cool. The builders were doing poorly in the begging. Then close to the end they builded a temple and a house with a lot of rooms. I think it would be harder if we had lesser people than we do now. But I like that a lot of people. I think we have a better advantage because we have a lot more people and all of those people are split in groups. For example I'm a farmer it pretty cool and nice but at the same its boring and dumb. with lesser people I don't think we would thrive we had like about for example 10 people but actually we have about 23 or 25. Minecraft is a society because some people can make music and painting make food have other jobs. I don't think we have to worry about anyone or anything. We minecraft player are considered a civalazation to my experience beause were able to build and thrive just like it was in real life civalazation. SO THAT THE REASON WHY I THINK MINECRAFT IS FUN. - JOSE ANGEL MOLINA

  57. the way I think it went was ok because we didn't really get much accomplished. We still need to finish the buildings and the to get more animals but that's it. it would be easier if we had more people it wouldn't take as long as it did to make food and materials as well as buildings the farm and gathering the animals. I think if we had more people we would have a advantage because it would be quicker and easier to build things and get things the only problem is food. 58. As a whole team or group building a society had many ups and downs. Some jobs were harder than others. I would say my job was one of the more challenging jobs. Our team's responsibility was to make sure everyone had food to eat. I believe I only saw 2-3 people die in the four days. That means that the herder group and my team did a good job supplying food for everyone. A perk about those four days was that my group was patient with each other. That was helpful in working with each other to get stuff done efficiently. Another pro was that we had bone-meal to grow the crops fast and not have to wait forever. The last thing that went well was knowing how to farm in my part. I have done Minecraft before, and it payed off. A con about the week was the time we had in the computer lab as well as how we would run out of seeds and bone-meal to make the crops grow. It felt like we didn’t get anything done, but really we did! Lastly, people would try to come in to the farming area and try to get their own food for themselves. That was how the four days in the computer lab both went well and poorly for Minecraft!
Some jobs would have been easier if they had more people. It all depended on what job you had. I was on the farmer team. My experience on the farmer team made me think that we would not need more people. If we had more people I don't think they would have been working as hard, just because the deed was getting done already by other members of the team. As for the mining, lumberjack, builder, and herder teams, I would say it would probably have been better to have more people. Those teams should have more people because they could have made/collected more of what the other teams needed faster. Last but not least was the crafters team. That team on the other hand may not have needed more people. The amount of crafters we had was enough and already met our needs fast. That was how the teams might 'reacted' to having more or less people.
I think that having more people in a civilization could equal to chaos and having less people could equal to not getting a lot done. Some teams need more people than others. I think having more people will also make it more unorganized. On the other hand having less people could mean not getting a lot done. Plus, we do want to build a civilization and it get done by the fourth day. So, there are many pros and cons about having more people and having less people to make a civilization. What do you think is better, to have more or less people?
Our civilization was not a true civilization. I say that because we didn't have artists or musicians. We had all the survival jobs. Back then tribes would have music as a big part in their society. In Minecraft we had no sculptors, so really it was not a true civilization. That is how our civilization was not a true civilization.

  59. My experience as a builder, building the city, was actually pretty successful!I think the role that I had on my team went pretty swiftly and I took a decent amount of time. Though we didn't quite finish in the given time, we worked together very well. It was very difficult to work since we kept on running low on our supplies.Well,I don't blame anyone because there were lots of things that had to be done in a short amount of time. There was probably a lot of pressure on the crafters with tons of requests from everyone. So, I get why they might not have been able to provide all of the things that the builders needed to build the buildings. Also, we didn't have many beds, we ended up having three beds out of around 20-25 people. We needed more wool from the ranchers to craft the beds, but there weren't many sheep, so that was hard for them to get more wool with limited sheep. Lastly, the roof didn't quite get finished since we ran out of blocks, but overall Emily and Phoebe did a great job at building the house. Maka also made a meeting area, but I'm not sure if it was completed, but I know that she worked very hard and did a great job at building it alone. So, the builders still needed to complete the roof of the sleeping headquarters, finish meeting place (not sure), put more beds in the sleeping headquarters, and build a temple for religious ceremonies.
I believe that this would actually be easier with less people. There would be less people to be concerned about. For instance, there wouldn't need to be a huge house that would take forever to build. Also, there would be less mouths to feed. When we played Minecraft, the food supply was very limited as the days progressed, therefore we most likely wouldn't have survived for much longer. I remember that my hunger was going down, so I went to the chest, expecting food, but there was nothing in there. All of the chests were empty. If we were in a smaller group, then there wouldn't be a big demand for food, and there wouldn't be a lot needed to be distributed. Finally, there wouldn't be as many people to worry about. You wouldn't constantly be looking to make sure that everyone was also there, instead you would just be carrying on without taking attendance all the time.
I think that civilizations with more people had an advantage over those with fewer. To start, they could work together and get things done faster. It all kind of depended on how well the group of people cooperated and worked together. If they worked well and respected each other, then they would be successful, but if they were rude and didn't communicate well, then they would not progress that well as a civilization. On the other hand, they could have a disadvantage. For instance, they had to provide more food and supplies. Well, this could be anything actually, they needed a large quantity of multiple things that was necessary for living. There houses had to be bigger, so they needed more supplies and tools to make a big house. They also had to make bigger buildings in general. The temples had to be bigger so that they could all fit in there, instead of being all squished into a tiny room. This conversation of larger groups having an advantage or disadvantage over civilizations with less people could go back and forth continuously. They both have their advantages. Yet there disadvantages.
According to the fourth question, in order to truly be considered a civilization, a society needs to be stable enough to have jobs that are other than helping contribute to survival, such as, artists, musicians, sculptures, etc. So, I do not think that our Minecraft society was definitely considered a civilization. I can agree that there shouldn't just be hard working jobs that contribute to survival, but other jobs too. Even though I may not consider our Minecraft society a civilization, I will say that we all worked very hard and did a very fine job working together. I did an okay good job having zero experience.
