6th Grade MinecraftEdu First Civilizations - Day 2
Day 2: How do you think things are going so far for your civilization? Do you think you have everything you need to survive? If not, what else do you need? How does this connect to the civilizations you have learned about in social studies?
My job is a rancher. I think we will face many challenges. Like... supplying food and water for the animals and keeping them safe from other people and other animals. It will also be fun because in the end we will get to see if we are worthy enough to take care of the animals. One last challenge we will face is keeping the animals in their pen. these are my thoughts about my job and the challenges we will face.
My job was the crafters and I think everything is going great so far. Also not a lot of people or asking for stuff now because we finally had the stuff to make food. This helps us learned how hard it was for the people back then to talk to one another.Now I relizied that now there will be more challenges soon. By:Derek Pham
So far our group is not organized and it’s all over the place.But at the end of class we tried to organize the group and people had separate jobs.so by the end we did ok but I hoped we would of been better.We want to get our animals organized and start breeding an killing animals for food.We also want to make sure everybody is contributing to making the ranch a better place.I think our civilization doesn’t have everything we need because food is something we lacked ,and lots of people died of starvation.Our civilization connects to the one we read because they went through some challenges like us.Also they needed to work together to make sure there whole civilization survives and doesn’t die.So even though we might have some slight issues in our civilization we can work it out and find a way to work together and solve it.That’s how i think our civilization is doing on day 2 of the project and how this connects to what we read.
Things are going very well in our civilization. The crops are growing and the builders are doing a great job at building. I think that I'm good with what is needed. It connects to what we have learned in social studies because it is basically explaining what it was like living in a civilization. It also explains what it was like trying to start a civilization.
So far we have accomplished a lot. The wood chest with wood has a row full of 64 logs in each space. We got a lot of apples but someone ate them all. Our civilization got off to a good start. The farm has crops almost ready or ready,the buildings are pretty good for just starting, and we have a lot of wood. We have all we need to survive. This connects to what we learned in social studies because people have different jobs, there is a wall and a moat around the city, and there are laws.
I think that the farm is doing well and succeeding in most of their goals. I think that we have mostly everything we need but i would like to set a goal to finish planting in the field and and get more crops into the storage facility. I think we have everything we need to survive in our community because we're doing really good at replanting the crops and getting recourses. The Minecraft lesson were doing is like the civilizations we have learned about in social studies because we have learned how the civilizations function and the Minecraft lesson is helping us learn more and what it is like to start a civilization because when you start a Minecraft server you really don't have anything to do anything with.
I think things are going well for our civilization because when the farmers and ranchers get crops and food they bring to the market so people can eat and don't starve to death. I think we have every thing we need because we have lumberjacks getting wood, miners getting materials, ranchers getting meat,farmers harvesting crops and crafters making tools. Also we just need the farmers to keep planting seeds and crops. This connects to what we learned in social studies because how if your family were farmers that's what job you had to be. also how if the farmers don't work we wont have steady food the same for the ranchers.
I think my job as a farmer is inportant because i produce vegetables and food for the civilization. My job is very inporant because i give people corn to eat also food to eat I also produce weat . I also in charge of bringing the crops to the the market for people eat the food so they don't starve to death. I also take part in making the irrigation systems to water the crops. This is how i take place in my job.
So far the builders have gotten pretty far on the buildings. I feel my team has been cooperating well and being very vocal. As leader I feel my team is wasting many materials to reach the top of buildings. Us builders need ladders to get on top of buildings to build roofs or to make buildings taller. Our next step is to build more houses and a school. This relates to Ancient times because we don’t have many materials to work with. This also relates to Ancient times because we are trying our best to survive, and some might not be working as hard as others or their not doing the job as well as others but we are all trying to survive like the people in Ancient times.

I think that things are going well in the civilization everyone is doing there role wells. I think that we have everything we need to survive,but we need to get a more stable food supply so that everyone can do their job.I think what were doing connects to what we learned about civilization because we all have different jobs and everyone is doing their role, and we learned that a civilization needs everyone to help to keep the civilization alive,but if one group stops working everything could collapse. What were dong n minecraft requires everyone to help.
I think that me and my group are getting there. We found some rare ores and others like that, but we don't have much we need to survive since its pretty hard being miners. We would have to go in dark caves, which we might or might not see in, we might have to climb all the way back up to get specific stuff we need. This project are doing connects to what we are learning in social studies is that we would know how it was like when we were the people from years and years ago. We would get to experience what it would feel like but just in game.
So far it’s going ok because were crafting items, completing quests. BUT on my team somebody is crafting things that people didn’t request which is annoying. Our next step is to have a meeting so we can evaluate what to do and not do. Also, to not steal any things that we do not own/need. Some connections to Ancient Civilizations are theres different roles which is happening here with farmers, miners, crafters, builders, and lumberjacks. Yes we have everything to survive because we have people buildings to protect us from enemies. Also, some livestock to get food and milk. We have the farmers which gives us wheat and other things to eat and make different foods from it. The miners will give us materials to build special buildings and tools . The lumberjacks will obviously give us wood and other material. The crafters will go on and craft each item that people need.
Things are going good with our civilization. We are getting more and more material, foods,. We need to work together more so we would have a stabled civilization
i think its been good for now because i do a lot of stop and team dose the work i just need a potatoes and some food with it and a pick axe and thats all
My jod is to mine. I think that things are going really well. For example the builders had nothing when they started but when finished they had a lot of stuff done. I don'treally think that we have all the stuff that we need to survive. Like a lot of people are starting to need food more then they did because they are moving faster and the are starting to get more done. Moving around a lot can cause you to lose hunger faster. So the one thing that we need more of is food. But the farmers and ranchers are doing really good. I think they can use some help though. But over all we are doing really good. I can realate this to what we are laerning adout in social studies because the people in Mesopotaima had to make houses and grow crops for the whole community. I know now what the people in the 1500s felt like, now. It is really hard to do all this stuff for the whole community/class.
How I think our civilization is going so far is it's developing and having more progress than Day 1. We had a better food supply today and later on throughout the time there were more supplies coming from the crafter and people from other jobs helped others, which was great and better from yesterday. Besides food most jobs in our civilization have everything we need, one thing ranchers need is more cows and sheep for food and material. Others shared food, wheat, and other supplies which was very helpful. How this connects to the civilizations we learned about is in Mesopotamia each person was assigned to do a certain job including, scribes, land owners, farmers, and etc. In Minecraft we have farmers and back in Mesopotamia there was farmers for planting food and crops. -Norah Karnwea
I believe so far me and my group have been doing very well getting materials. I do think we have everything we need to survive. I think this because we already have stone for building and we have lapis lazuli, red stones and other supplies we need to build and create different things. To me I think this has connected to the civilizations we have learned about in social studies because in social studies it said that the Sumerians and the other early humans had to work night and day to get supplies so they can make a shelter to survive. I think this goes back to what we’re learning in computer lab because me and my group are working very hard like the Sumerians did to get stone and other supplies so the builders can create shelter so we can stay alive. My job is a miner it is so so fun because you get to find new place or new things that unfold. The reason why i think the challenges the miners face are the hardest because we don't just mine. We find new things like diamonds that was a big thing for miners and people say mining is the easy but it is not .You have a choose to make, do you want to just go all the way down in the mine and stay they for the hole period or stay up at ground level where it is easy to mine and not die, the civilization need the cobble stone to make new things like tools for the, farmers , for the lumber jacks I died tie to get up to the ground level then it said Stefano die or fell from a high height. The connects that I made in social studies is that it take time and work to finish the job that is what happen in the older times .You did not get finish a town or house like that it took time and work to make it happen.
As a farmer I think it's going pretty well since, we had a stable food supply. I think we have everything we need to survive for now but, we will need more structures in the future. A way I can connect the civilizations to what we've learned in social studies is how everyone had to work together in minecraft as, for the civilization in social studies too. this is how I think the civilizations are doing so far and, how I can connect minecraft to the civilization in social studies.
How it is going so far is that it is going really well, my team is doing really well. I think that everyone is doing good. Our next steps are to keep on growing and harvesting the crops until the week is over. How Mine craft connects to social studies is that in the textbook, it states that the Sumerians worked very well together. They learned how to work together by struggling in some very complicated dilemmas and arguments. Once they got through all of those dilemmas and arguments, they learned how to get along and work together and made an amazing civilization. Then eventually, they turned that civilization into the world we have today.
I think my job is getying easyer as the minecraft days go bye.yes i think we do but food is a problem other than that wehave everything we meed to survive.this connects to mesopayamia because they had to work on a stable food supply. I had so much fun as a crafter.
My job is to mine.I think that my civilization is falling apart and rebuilding up again,mini arguments go a long way.Anyway,we are starting to have a stable food supply.But everything else is going fine.We have all the things we need to survive.All we need is more food and an place to stay at.There are many connections between social studies and the civilizations we made in Minecraft. Like the food supply problems and all the mini arguments.That was what i think of how the civilization is going.
It will be a long time for us ranchers to actually make animals breed so we can then have enough supplies and extras to we can let them help us with jobs.I think it's going pretty good so far.Our most problems we have with our ranch is the animals go to different pens.We have to usually have to kill them if it's too hard to push them back into their pens or that we need one or more people to get in.From that we will try to not let them escape the next time we do this.
My job is a craftman and at diffrent times people are asking for wierd things. We need lots of things like food, and we get mad when people go in our area to do stuff, even do they are not aloud to. When we get food it is hard because we cook them, then people take all of the food, even do they dont need it. It is hard to tell people to come on get there order because when we leave there is another order we have to do. But if we keep on doing good we will be the perfect civilization.
I think things went a little bit more smoothly in are civilization today.I think I have enough things to survive in have food,armor,diamond picaxe,im pretty much great on supplies.I don't need anything much except a bucket for water so we have a way down to the mine without taking fall damage.This connects to are lesson because because we are learning how people had to live back then.It isn't like today where you can just go to the store.You had tone work for your items.You have to be patient with everything you do this connects because we got to see how civilizations worked through a video game.we learn and we have fun
As the leader of the crafters part of the civilization i think every thing is going good.There is a lot of stuff we need to craft for the farmers like bonemeal for the plants to grow.One challenge the i think our civilization we come across is we are going to not have the write amount of materials ti craft food for our civilization,so we will starve to death.One last challenge that i think our civilization is going to face one more challenge and that is working together if we work together our civilization we be fine.
As a crafter I think my our civilization is going good because now that we have the farm going good every body has food so we can eat and raise animals. Yes I think I have every thing to survive we have food and materials
My job is a rancher. I think we will have to go through a lot of challenges like getting the animals, getting the right food for them, and to keep them in their pen we splitter it up so they could have thier own space. At the end Megan Olivia and I will see if we are worthy enough to take good care of the animals. This is gonna be very fun but hard.**!!!
The civilization is going imposing. More work is progressing every day. I'm a lumberjack . Yesterday lumberjacks where having issues with finding apples. Today we progressed by finding more apples. Ranchers are progressing by already having the animals in the ranch. Also the farmers are advancing more with the crops because sometimes people with other jobs think they have everything they need and then help the farmers plant crops. This means that our civilization is imposing everyday. Yes I think I have everything to help me survive. Even though the crops and animals are not ready to eat,I'm lucky because I'm a lumberjack and I find apples. On the other hand I also think that we need something else to survive farmers should grow their crops faster so no one starves. Another thing is that ranchers should get more help with the animals. Ranchers look like they need help finding and capturing animals. This helps me comprehend how ancient times Egypt struggled to survive for one thing they also lived in a desert. Which is way harder in real life to survive in a desert because a desert is really hot. Although the Egyptians had an advantage. They live close to the Nile river. We also had and advantage we had the tools to do things in Minecraft's. Which really does connects to the civilization we learn in science.
Today, the miners made lots of progress for our civilization. We were able to find a lot of red stone, some lapis and two diamonds! In mining, I think we have everything we need to get from stone to diamond, but we will need to get more coal for cooking food. I do not know how the farmers and ranchers are doing. We definitely need more food for the people who are starving and all the animals. We have learned about Mesopotamia, Egypt, Canaan and Kush. In those civilizations they needed a lot of food for all the people, so everyone had to work hard. They had craftsmen and women, and they had farmers. They probably had miners too.
my job is a lumber jack i think we will face a couple of challenges. first we could run out of trees. another is faceing food because we need to run back in forth to put are supplies in the chest.I think we have everything to survive and thrive as a civilization . it relates by how a civilization works and runs to thrive together.
In my group of ranchers it's a little chaotic. I ACCIDENTILY spawned the animals. now we have to build pens for the animals and try to get them to go in it. I think we have everything we need to survive. We have food water and all the supplies we could ever have. This connects to civilizations we have learned about because everybody had jobs. Just like in our minecraftedu civilization everybody has a job.

But with the great communication I ask the famers for help and thought me how to do it. If we are talking about everything we need to survive we shouldn't be doing any work. So the answer is no because we all need water and food to survive and those things are the hardest thing to get right now and that is a bad thing. Now if we have food we are all set and I tell you we have everything we need. While learning in Social Studies about mesipontains and Egypt I can relate to this problem because mesipotains also had scares food but then they moved and got beter food suppies
I feel that my team is working well together and that we have gotten plenty of materials for the craftsmen to make items. I also think that the guys over at the ranch have got to chill since they’re over there spawning wolves that are killing their sheep. I think that my team has to start looking for more diamonds and gold so that craftsmen can make better items for the other groups. In social studies we learned that once you have a stable food supply everything starts to work smoothly. In Minecraft we need the farmers to start making more food so then everyone can start doing their jobs more calmly. The ranchers are also helping to maintain a stable food supply since they are raising animals, and that means that we hopefully won't run out of food.
I thing that our civilization is starting to rise. I think that we have enough things to survive for now. Like the decent amount of food and building materials. I think that maybe, we will need more food in the future. One thing that connects my job as a builder to ancient civilizations is that they needed to build homes to protect them from the outside, and we have to do the same.

So far the ranchers are unorganized, which is not well for our civilization at all. No one talks to each other. If we start talking about what we’re doing it would help. In order to survive I need food, other than that I can survive. Here are some reasons why minecraftEDU connects to ancient civilizations. First in ancient civilizations had builders, ranchers, farmers, etc. We have that as well . Also in ancient civilizations they had to survive, they didn’t just take food for granted they had to share it. That’s what we have to do in mine craft. This is what we learned about ancient civilizations.

Things are going pretty good but it would go a lot smoother if we had more matirials we need a lot more matirials to build the things we need to build.
Honestly, I dont think the ranchers are doing well, people are killing animals without permission, and its frustrating, I believe the thing we need are sheers because we only have one sheep.
the builders are starting to build our first apartmaent of the civlization. Our plan is to build a apartment that has at least 4 to five rooms in each apartment. Then we are going to tie to build a roof out of sprouce woood but the lumbers need to get some morw spruce wood. while the lumbers are lumbering i will help out with the civilization.
I think its going good so far,but we need more sprues wood. We also need people to help us with building because some of our team mates aren't helping and only stay somewhere else. We also need beds and doors. We don't need food. It conncects to social studies because people how lived in there they didnt have alot of things to survie.
I think our civilization is doing good. Some things are challenging but once you get to the hard part that's were teamwork comes in. The builders cant build beds unless the ranchers have sheer from miners to sheer the sheep. Teamwork is probably the most important thing in a new civilization. A connection to social studies is that we learned about in Mesopotamia is that everyone had their own job and they all had to do their own job so the whole civilization wouldn't fall apart. So if one person didn't do their job of getting food or farming the whole civilization would fall apart and starve. That is how our civilization is doing.

l feel much better than last time because last time l didn't really understand and l'm a builder so i build house and more stuff.no i don't think l i have everything yet.

I need a bridge on the cave then i can survive. The civilization is connected to history by doing the samething the historians did
My job is the crafters. My job is hard because we can run out of materials fast and we need to know how to craft an item, but sometimes it is an easy job because we sometimes all we have to do is use a furnace like cooking pork chops. My job is also a big contribute to the community by making ladder and pickaxes for the miners or making bone meal and hoes for the farmers.
I am a rancher, I'm helping the animals to survive. I think our city is coming together. We really need food for our animals. Also we need to watch our food level. This connects to what we need to learn because they probably went threw the same thing. For the farm I think we need more food for our city. Last is that were all working together and were going threw the same things. Were also coming together to make a good city. Even know were messing up at some time and were not the best.
So far it is going ok. I think that Carter, Aiden and I are the best at building and are contributing well to the society. The next steps are making more houses and asking for a pickaxe and or axe. Lastly the connection to ancient civilizations are that there is a stable food supply and houses and enough resources to build more if needed. Also the crafters are helping very much because they are making the resources to build with.

So far our civilizations are going pretty good. I work as a rancher and someone recked all the gates, so we need to request more. Besides that we are doing good and have what we need to survive. This is relating to social studies because we were learning about ancient civilizations and how they work, which is what we are doing on minecraft. The only thing different is that our civilizations don't have any kings or queens like real civilizations.
I am a builder it is hard and easy because we need fences. we just need to get ladders and we have to make a lot of house and it is easy when you work AS A TEAM TO WORK FAST. we also need food. this connet form social studies because back then they had to do these things.

ReplyDeleteSo far it’s going ok because were crafting items, completing quests. BUT on my team somebody is crafting things that people didn’t request which is annoying. Our next step is to have a meeting so we can evaluate what to do and not do. Also, to not steal any things that we do not own/need. Some connections to Ancient Civilizations are theres different roles which is happening here with farmers, miners, crafters, builders, and lumberjacks. Yes we have everything to survive because we have people buildings to protect us from enemies. Also, some livestock to get food and milk. We have the farmers which gives us wheat and other things to eat and make different foods from it. The miners will give us materials to build special buildings and tools . The lumberjacks will obviously give us wood and other material. The crafters will go on and craft each item that people need.

ReplyDeleteMy jod is to mine. I think that things are going really well. For example the builders had nothing when they started but when finished they had a lot of stuff done. I don'treally think that we have all the stuff that we need to survive. Like a lot of people are starting to need food more then they did because they are moving faster and the are starting to get more done. Moving around a lot can cause you to lose hunger faster. So the one thing that we need more of is food. But the farmers and ranchers are doing really good. I think they can use some help though. But over all we are doing really good. I can realate this to what we are laerning adout in social studies because the people in Mesopotaima had to make houses and grow crops for the whole community. I know now what the people in the 1500s felt like, now. It is really hard to do all this stuff for the whole community/class.
ReplyDeleteHow I think our civilization is going so far is it's developing and having more progress than Day 1. We had a better food supply today and later on throughout the time there were more supplies coming from the crafter and people from other jobs helped others, which was great and better from yesterday. Besides food most jobs in our civilization have everything we need, one thing ranchers need is more cows and sheep for food and material. Others shared food, wheat, and other supplies which was very helpful. How this connects to the civilizations we learned about is in Mesopotamia each person was assigned to do a certain job including, scribes, land owners, farmers, and etc. In Minecraft we have farmers and back in Mesopotamia there was farmers for planting food and crops.

ReplyDeleteI believe so far me and my group have been doing very well getting materials. I do think we have everything we need to survive. I think this because we already have stone for building and we have lapis lazuli, red stones and other supplies we need to build and create different things. To me I think this has connected to the civilizations we have learned about in social studies because in social studies it said that the Sumerians and the other early humans had to work night and day to get supplies so they can make a shelter to survive. I think this goes back to what we’re learning in computer lab because me and my group are working very hard like the Sumerians did to get stone and other supplies so the builders can create shelter so we can stay alive. ReplyDeleteMy job is a miner it is so so fun because you get to find new place or new things that unfold. The reason why i think the challenges the miners face are the hardest because we don't just mine. We find new things like diamonds that was a big thing for miners and people say mining is the easy but it is not .You have a choose to make, do you want to just go all the way down in the mine and stay they for the hole period or stay up at ground level where it is easy to mine and not die, the civilization need the cobble stone to make new things like tools for the, farmers , for the lumber jacks I died tie to get up to the ground level then it said Stefano die or fell from a high height. The connects that I made in social studies is that it take time and work to finish the job that is what happen in the older times .You did not get finish a town or house like that it took time and work to make it happen.

ReplyDeleteHow it is going so far is that it is going really well, my team is doing really well. I think that everyone is doing good. Our next steps are to keep on growing and harvesting the crops until the week is over. How Mine craft connects to social studies is that in the textbook, it states that the Sumerians worked very well together. They learned how to work together by struggling in some very complicated dilemmas and arguments. Once they got through all of those dilemmas and arguments, they learned how to get along and work together and made an amazing civilization. Then eventually, they turned that civilization into the world we have today.

ReplyDeleteIt will be a long time for us ranchers to actually make animals breed so we can then have enough supplies and extras to we can let them help us with jobs.I think it's going pretty good so far.Our most problems we have with our ranch is the animals go to different pens.We have to usually have to kill them if it's too hard to push them back into their pens or that we need one or more people to get in.From that we will try to not let them escape the next time we do this.

ReplyDeleteThe civilization is going imposing. More work is progressing every day. I'm a lumberjack . Yesterday lumberjacks where having issues with finding apples. Today we progressed by finding more apples. Ranchers are progressing by already having the animals in the ranch. Also the farmers are advancing more with the crops because sometimes people with other jobs think they have everything they need and then help the farmers plant crops. This means that our civilization is imposing everyday. Yes I think I have everything to help me survive. Even though the crops and animals are not ready to eat,I'm lucky because I'm a lumberjack and I find apples. On the other hand I also think that we need something else to survive farmers should grow their crops faster so no one starves. Another thing is that ranchers should get more help with the animals. Ranchers look like they need help finding and capturing animals. This helps me comprehend how ancient times Egypt struggled to survive for one thing they also lived in a desert. Which is way harder in real life to survive in a desert because a desert is really hot. Although the Egyptians had an advantage. They live close to the Nile river. We also had and advantage we had the tools to do things in Minecraft's. Which really does connects to the civilization we learn in science.
ReplyDeleteToday, the miners made lots of progress for our civilization. We were able to find a lot of red stone, some lapis and two diamonds! In mining, I think we have everything we need to get from stone to diamond, but we will need to get more coal for cooking food. I do not know how the farmers and ranchers are doing. We definitely need more food for the people who are starving and all the animals. We have learned about Mesopotamia, Egypt, Canaan and Kush. In those civilizations they needed a lot of food for all the people, so everyone had to work hard. They had craftsmen and women, and they had farmers. They probably had miners too.

ReplyDeleteI think that this civilization of my class is going amazing. I say this because very one of each job like builders,miners,farmers,luberjacks,ranchers are doing their own part. This means when we all are working together we all share and see what is going on in own civilization. This is very important because our civilization has the smallest group so taking our time and making good things is going to be really helpful to our small civilization. When we are doing the things we need to do we all accomplish something or learn something like me when I went to help to farm it was really hard to do it. But with the great communication I ask the famers for help and thought me how to do it. If we are talking about everything we need to survive we shouldn't be doing any work. So the answer is no because we all need water and food to survive and those things are the hardest thing to get right now and that is a bad thing. ReplyDeleteI feel that my team is working well together and that we have gotten plenty of materials for the craftsmen to make items. I also think that the guys over at the ranch have got to chill since they’re over there spawning wolves that are killing their sheep. I think that my team has to start looking for more diamonds and gold so that craftsmen can make better items for the other groups. In social studies we learned that once you have a stable food supply everything starts to work smoothly. In Minecraft we need the farmers to start making more food so then everyone can start doing their jobs more calmly. The ranchers are also helping to maintain a stable food supply since they are raising animals, and that means that we hopefully won't run out of food.

The builders cant build beds unless the ranchers have sheer from miners to sheer the sheep. Teamwork is probably the most important thing in a new civilization. A connection to social studies is that we learned about in Mesopotamia is that everyone had their own job and they all had to do their own job so the whole civilization wouldn't fall apart. So if one person didn't do their job of getting food or farming the whole civilization would fall apart and starve. That is how our civilization is doing.

My job is hard because we can run out of materials fast and we need to know how to craft an item, but sometimes it is an easy job because we sometimes all we have to do is use a furnace like cooking pork chops. My job is also a big contribute to the community by making ladder and pickaxes for the miners or making bone meal and hoes for the farmers.

Besides that we are doing good and have what we need to survive.
